Serenity Areas On-Board the Disney Fantasy By Dawn Gosdin (@logpey)

Well, well, well, in case you didn’t know, Disney Cruise Line offers “adult only” areas? I, like most of you are thrilled for these little spots of paradise, not that I want to get away from my teenage terrors, but a little adult time is magical for your soul and your mental health, can I get an AMEN. I giggled pixie dust to check out these designated areas when my family set sail on July 5th aboard the Disney Fantasy. Our first “Sea” day, my hubby and I explored the Quiet Cove pool on Deck 11; while our teenage children … Continue reading

Why I love Disney: A Lesson for the Haters By Katy Melcher

I have a friend at work who absolutely detests Disney.  His critiques include calling anything from Disney “pathetically predictable” and “destructive.”  Ultimately, he dubs Disney films and parks “fantasy to destroy reality.”  These comments sparked a bit of a debate, to put it mildly!  I mean, to me, that is blasphemy!  But it did start me thinking about why I love Disney Parks, films, songs; well, pretty much everything with the Disney name attached to it.  Some of the very critiques my colleague leveled at Disney are the very reasons why millions of people are head over heels for the … Continue reading

If you’ve ever asked this question, then you must keep reading! (Even if you haven’t, you should still keep reading!) I grew up visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort with my parents and my older sister.  There was never a doubt that Disney was for us…just look at all of those Princesses!   So, when I became a mom to one boy, then two boys, and now three boys, I had to take a look at this magical place through new eyes (or Mickey Mouse ears!).  What I have discovered is amazing!  I would argue that the Walt Disney World® Resort … Continue reading

Vacation Planning 101 Part 3 – FastPasses and Online Check–in by Corey Applegate

I know it has been awhile since Part Two, but things were relatively quiet until this past month.  First, the Disney Armed Forces Salute was released a few weeks ago.  So, I called to have the discount applied to our rooms and was told that all of the discounted rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa were already taken and that I’d have to pick a different hotel and he rattled off a bunch of names.  Since this trip is for my parents, mostly my mom since Dad just goes where she tells him to, I didn’t want to make … Continue reading

Around and About at Aulani by Dawn Gosdin

Aloha! I know visiting Hawaii is on your family’s bucket list and visiting Aulani Resort & Spa is no exception. My ohana was fortunate enough to visit Spring 2012. Aulani offers magical activities & entertainment to delight the entire family, but I want to switch it up a bit. I want to help your ohana experience Hawaiian culture outside of Aulani; this is a Hawaiian vacay after all. Enjoy the authentic activities around the island, so you can enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer. Ideally you’ll want your family to suggest a few ideas of what Hawaii means to … Continue reading
